I had a wonderful conversation with Phyl yesterday. We spoke about many things: healing self, balance, fear of greatness and Autumn as a time for renewal and change.

I have always loved the in between seasons of Autumn and Spring. They are my breath of fresh air that prepare me for the going in of winter and the coming out of summer.

I have just returned from being at the beach and enjoyed basking in the not too hot sun, feeling the breeze brush past my face and wondering…just wondering…

I started to do some writing and art exercises with my non-dominant (right) hand allowing myself to play and I was amazing at what was revealed to me…

…aging, anti-inflammatory

india, in there, intuition, indecision

not knowing who I am

what happened?

getting worse, spreading

spreading viral

uncontrollable

damage to myself

I don’t want to walk yet but I’ve been told to run

how can they hurt me?

what are they doing to me?

Why not I keep saying why not?

questions and no answers

groused out by it all

wanting to be normal to be understood

to be listened to to be heard

always my intuition I listen to

all the time for people to trust me with that

Why is it still there?

and worse now more than ever?

Allow yourself to let go

to take a risk into the unknown

into the past

allow myself to hear and stop controlling

Break through to the other side

strong enough you know

you are

allow yourself to heal and be known

reach out and hold my hand

allow yourself to heal

I also did some drawing and as an artist I like to keep things within the lines and my lines have to be perfect so using my non-dominant hand was a totally different experience! My lines were free and it did not matter how they were placed upon the page and when I tried to stay within the lines I couldn’t! My hand was moving freely and at times uncontrollable.

The non-dominant hand can’t stay within the boundaries, it has to get out and be free.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I watched Coach Carter last night on DVD (for the 3rd or 4th time!) and was reminded of a quote which was originally given by Marianne Williamson in her book A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles

Nowadays most people credit this quote to Nelson Mandela but Marianne Williamson’s book is where the quote originates. At the end of the day, what matters most is that people hear this quote and are inspired by its message.

I was thinking to myself what is the purpose of this blog? I have two other blogs “My Magic Garden” and “Peace 2009” Both of these have clear purposes but this blog is kind of a mixed lolly bag really.

Which is why this blog post is totally unrelated to the last and is about what I had for breakfast this morning! Kina on toast!! Yum!

Now if you have ever eaten kina before you will know that it is an acquired taste but it is nothing like you would have ever tasted before. The way the kina just slides down your throat…yummy…

But what I also wanted to say about the kina is that  sometimes you will find the shells on a beach – dry, spikeless and gutless but transformed into these amazing shapes with the most intricate patterns on them. Many an artist has used these for inspiration. I certainly have!

And if you are an artist – check out here how you can make money from your art online.

And don’t forget to check out my other blogs here and here.

Peace,

Jo 🙂

Its been a while since I wrote in here. I’m really good at writing all over the place on pieces of paper, in a book, paint on rock, but to make a conscious effort to send some thoughts out into cyberspace is different …I will make time in amongst all the other things that occupy my day. But when I think about it, everything that I do has a purpose in my day. It is all contributing to the bigger vision of a better world for all. When I hold that thought, I know I am on the right track and all the effort is worthwhile…
